Reflecting on my work during the intro to the project I have tried to use a range of different techniques, such as; mark making, collage and making a maquette whilst using a mixture of media.

I gathered these ideas from exploring North and West London, with my mini group. We were able to collect observational drawings and primary imagery to convey the themes of the project.

One of the most interesting techniques I used in this project was creating a 3D maquette based on grapes. I created it by using gold card cut into circles. I then cut slits into them so they would stand up to create a three dimensional form. I feel it was an interesting way to capture the form of the grapes in an abstract way. I then used this to inspire myself for the ‘Way of Seeing and Talking Pattern’ by using this imagery to create collages and drawings.

I found this project to be daunting at the start because it was my first project at university. I also found doing initial research on A3 challenging because at school and college I was always restricted by scale. Once I got into it I found it working on a larger scale far more freeing. Overall I found this project exciting because London is a city full of inspiration, color and diversity.  If I was to do this project again I would not overthink it at the start and give myself more creative freedom to be bolder with my designs.
